Be Bold

Be Bold When reading Hebrews 4:16 and Prov 28:1 use this definition of bold. You will see that nothing in this definition implies being a jerk but it also plainly shows that being a milk toast wimp isn’t apart of the definition either. 1. Daring; courageous; brave; intrepid; fearless; applied to men or other animals; as, bold as a lion. 2. Requiring courage in the execution; executed with spirit or boldness; planned with courage and spirit; as a bold enterprise. 3. Confident; not timorous. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. When we come to the throne in our time of need we are not to come groveling. We come boldly, confidently not because of us but because of our confidence and trust in who The Father is, because of of what Jesus did for us and through power of the Holy Spirit in us. For us to come any other way would be insulting. As born again people adopted into God’s family when we...

The POWER of YOUR TESTIMONY.

The POWER of YOUR TESTIMONY. First let’s understand what a testimony is. Noah Webster 1828-TEST'IMONY, noun [Latin testimonium.] A solemn declaration or affirmation made for the purpose of establishing or proving some fact. Such affirmation in judicial proceedings, may be verbal or written, but must be under oath. testimony differs from evidence; testimony is the declaration of a witness, and evidence is the effect of that declaration on the mind, or the degree of light which it affords. Testimony- Your story of what The Lord has done in your life. Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Did you get that? They over came him, the enemy of your soul, by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. Every time you share your testimony you are participating in spiritual warfare against our enemy. This is especially true when you share it with unbelievers. When you sha...

Vision

Vision Proverbs 29:18 a KJV  -Where there is no vision, the people perish:   When most of us read or hear this the definition for vision that comes to mind is: A  revelation from God; an appearance or exhibition of something supernaturally presented to the minds of the prophets, by which they were informed of future events.  While this is a correct definition it is not complete. We must also add this to it: The act of seeing external objects; actual sight.   How many of you when you get up from your seat in a room look at the doorway and then close your eyes or blindfold yourself because you used your eye sight i.e., vision to see where how you are going to leave so what is the point in using your eyes any more?  I would confidently guess that none of you do this.  Every day we lean on and trust our natural vision to navigate our world.  Our vision helps us to see the best ways to go, potential hazards, obstacles and opportun...

Resolving Issues

Every day it seems I observe problems and issues that people have or create that could be avoided or solved if they knew and followed the Word of God. For instance when someone has an issue with someone. What do I observe most people do most of the time? They get offended, brood on their offense, gossip about it and blast the person on social media. The saddest part is that none of these things that they do actually make them feel better long term or resolve the issue. Sure one can feel better after they have blasted out their grievances about someone on social media but that doesn’t last long. The offense remains and left unattended turns to bitterness. Now let’s look at the God way of doing things. Matt 18:15-17 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be establis...

Bitterness

I had a dream some months back about a person I was once very close with. In my dream they had been given a diagnosis of cancer that had spread through out their body. The doctors could do nothing and within 5 months from diagnosis they were dead. This dream troubled me. Dying from cancer is not a pleasant way to die. So I prayed and asked the Lord if there was a meaning to this dream. The Lord said that the cancer was bitterness and that bitterness is like cancer. Bitterness left undiagnosed and untreated grows and spreads through out our entire being and destroy us. Bitterness must be completely rooted out because even if just the root of it is left behind it will still spring up destruction. Like cancer it is best to do everything possible to avoid it. If you do get it early detection and dealing with it when it starts/is small is better than ignoring it. The longer it stays the more damage it does and the more difficult to get rid of. Lastly left untreated bitterness just lik...

The Lessons of Success and Failure

Success and Failure. Both have important lessons to teach. Proverbs 24:16 For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. In our society, both in the church and outside the church, we are drawn to success. We respect success and we listen to those and honor those who are successful. That’s a smart thing to do. What is even smarter is to respect and listen to those who have also failed and failed multiple times at doing something. (Not talking about moral failures in this context). 7 times down 8 times up. There’s a lot that can be learned from someone who has failed and failed but hasn’t quit. Actually more can be learned from them than someone who has never failed. What can really be learned from someone who is successful because they inherited money or got the job because of who they were related to and has yet to suffer a setback? Most of us have experienced failures and will probably face more going forward. We need to learn ho...

Honor

1 Peter 2:17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. The lack of NT Greek isn’t the problem as much as lack of knowledge of what our own words mean. We are to honor ALL people. If we really knew the definition of the English word honor and then applied it to all people how different things would be. Noah Webster 1828 dictionary HON'OR, verb intransitive on'or. [Latin honoro.] 1. To revere; to respect; to treat with deference and submission, and perform relative duties to. Honor thy father and thy mother. Exodus 20:12. 2. To reverence; to manifest the highest veneration for, in words and actions; to entertain the most exalted thoughts of; to worship; to adore. That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. John 5:1. 3. To dignify; to raise to distinction or notice; to elevate in rank or station; to exalt. Men are sometimes honored with titles and offices, which they do not merit. Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king deligh...
